For a personal exploration, I had the opportunity to work on the Men Also Dance project, a photographic exhibition that aimed to portray the routine of male dancers in the classroom practising various dance styles, with a focus on Classical Ballet. To create a unique and innovative approach to the photographs, I decided to use long exposure techniques, resulting in images that are mostly distorted or show only some details of the movements.
My role in the project was to design an exhibition that would showcase these striking photographs in a way that would capture the attention of visitors and convey the essence of the project. I worked closely with the Cisne Negro Dance Company and Pavarini Art’s Centre schools in São Paulo to authorially produce the photographs and develop promotional materials featuring all the photographs in the exhibition.
My goal was to create a cohesive and impactful visual identity for the exhibition, while also highlighting the individuality of each photograph. I used a modern and minimalistic approach, incorporating bold typography, striking colours, and clean layouts. The result was a compelling and visually stunning exhibition that celebrated the artistry and strength of male dancers and inspired visitors to appreciate the beauty of dance.
