I had the prospect to work on a project that aimed to solve a common problem in one of the largest cities in the world, São Paulo in Brazil. The challenge was to create a new signalling system that could effectively guide tourists and locals through the city’s vast and diverse landscape.
The current signage in the city tends to blend in with the environment, making it easy to overlook important information. Through research and observations, I developed a new system that focuses on simplicity, legibility, and modernity as its main concepts. The new design uses bold typography, clear iconography, and a colour scheme that stands out from its surroundings.
With over 20 million inhabitants and various attractions to explore, creating a system that could easily guide people to their destinations was crucial. As a graphic designer, I am proud to have been a part of this project that helps visitors navigate the city and enhances the overall aesthetic of São Paulo.
